Cec Noc mismatch

I received a CEC ITA and I meet eligibility based on 1 year of Canadian experience. However, my CRS score also includes foreign work experience, so IRCC will assess it.

After receiving my employer reference letter for one foreign role, I realized the duties do not fully match the NOC I used in my profile. I originally selected an administrative-type NOC, but the letter reflects mostly banking/operations duties. Which is mostly a teer 4 which will decrease my point My employer refuses to amend the letter.

I have tried reassessing the role under other NOCs, including accounting-related one teer 3 , but the best alignment I can get is around 65%. If I correct the NOC fully, my CRS drops below the ITA cutoff.

I understand that foreign work is not required for CEC eligibility, but I also know CRS points used for the ITA must be valid.

My questions: • Has anyone proceeded with a borderline (≈65%) NOC match and still been approved? • Did IRCC downgrade the NOC and refuse, or accept it? • Is there any legitimate way people have managed this situation without declining the ITA?

Looking for real experiences, not guesses.
