Anger.
The diapers were the worst. I used to get so mad during diaper changes. My oldest, Kama, who's six right now, used to be brutal as a baby. Everything bothered him to the maximum.
- Milk wasn't cold enough
- Milk wasn't hot enough
- It's too hot
- I'm too cold
- It's too noisy
- It's not loud enough
- You're holding me the wrong way
There's a perfect angle he liked to be held, and he made sure to scream as loud as he could until he got that position. He was brutal in every category. I didn't even realize how much the diapers bothered me until way later in life. I had to completely heal myself to realize how bad it really was for me. I used to sweat during every diaper change, grip my teeth, bite my lip, raise my shoulders, and then pump myself up like I was doing push-ups against David Goggins. I had to do that just to get his damn diaper changed. Never underestimate or miss the opportunity to catch these signals, these little warning signs. They're important.
