Cities or towns in the US that have cool infrastructure to shoot?

A lot of European films have great shots of buildings that look so artistic and esthetically pleasing, but atleast near me in the US a lot of buildings all look the same. What are some cities or towns in the US that have cool architecture or locations to shoot at other than New York and LA?
