How to fix Fallout 2?

I’m having major issues with Fallout 2, and apparently there’s some sort of patch you can download to fix these issues, but I can’t find anything more about it. Whenever I try to leave a place in the Highwayman, the world map completely freezes and I have to close the game completely, apparently this unofficial patch fixes this. Does anyone know anything about this? I’d appreciate any help, thanks
