22F |CA Inter delayed due to mistakes, seeking practical guidance/ advice
Hi, I’m 22F from India with a commerce background. I passed school in 2021 and have been pursuing CA since then. I want to be honest about something because I feel I can’t ask for guidance on half-truths anymore. Over the past few years, I made poor decisions and ended up lying to people around me about my progress in CA, mostly out of fear and shame. Those lies have now caught up with me and are limiting my options, especially when it comes to asking for referrals or support. I’m not proud of it, and I’m not looking for sympathy. I’m actively trying to correct course by applying honestly for internships/part-time roles at CA firms, continuing CA Inter prep, and finishing my post graduation. But I feel very behind and overwhelmed, it’s driving me to the edge and I don’t want to keep repeating the same mistakes.
I’m posting here because I genuinely want realistic guidance from people who’ve been through CA or career setbacks: -How do you know if this is the right path even after messing up 4 years? -What are practical career paths from here if I don’t continue CA? -How do people rebuild credibility and momentum after messing up early years?
I know I messed up real bad, I’m taking responsibility and I’m willing to do the work. I just need clarity on how to move forward without lying to myself or others again.
Would really appreciate some guidance.
Thank you.
TL;DR: 22F, commerce background, delayed CA Inter due to poor decisions and dishonesty, I’m now correcting. Actively applying for internships and continuing CA Inter + M.Com. Looking for realistic guidance on whether finishing CA Inter is still worth it and what practical career options exist if I don’t go till Final.
