parking tips for dj j scratch at copper blues oxnard resturant (oxnard 01/10)
hey everyone, dj j scratch at copper blues on 01/10 is gonna be a blast, but honestly, parking at the collection at riverpark for a friday night event, even with a late 10:00 pm start, can be a total nightmare if you just wing it. figured i'd share some tips to save you a headache.
the absolute easiest way i've found to deal with the parking chaos and completely skip the traffic circling the main lots is using an app called prked. you can actually rent someone's driveway or private garage right in the residential neighborhood next to the collection at riverpark. it's usually way cheaper than fighting for a spot and it lets you avoid all the congestion and the constant "circle of doom," plus it's just a short, easy walk right over to copper blues. check the app first- it's a life saver.
if you want to stick with parking right at the venue, the good news is that the collection has a ton of free parking lots and a big parking garage. for the closest free spot, your best bet is to aim for the outdoor lot directly in front of copper blues and the levity live comedy club. if you come in off riverpark drive, make a right and head toward the movie theater, and you'll see those specific lots for that section. the main parking garage is another free option and offers more space, but fair warning, it can sometimes get really loud with car meetups late at night, so if that's not your thing, definitely stick to the outdoor surface lots.
since it's a friday, expect the traffic coming into the collection, especially off the 101 freeway at the oxnard blvd exit, to get backed up quick because of the dinner and movie crowds, even though your show is later. plan on getting there early- give yourself at least 30 to 45 minutes before 10:00 pm so you're not rushing or having to park super far out.
a super important warning: the collection is private property and uses a private enforcement company that gives out mail-in parking charges, sometimes up to $65 tickets, for unauthorized spots. you'll also see some metered street parking right in front of the shops, but that's enforced by the same private company and they can tow. whatever you do, seriously do not try to sneak into an ev charging spot if you don't have an electric car.
hope this helps and have a great time at the show!
