Is nier reincarnation even worth it?

No one can play the game anymore, the only way to is watching and reading via websites and YouTube which is unusual to a lot of people, and of course im one of them. Im not really optimistic about it, and i feel like it wont be needed to understand the plot of the 4th nier. Will it be worth my while if i watched it?(I played all the drakennier but nier reincarnation)
