How are Uk universities in terms of diversity or welcoming?
Hi there. I am a Muslim Turkish student who currently lives in South Africa. I am considering applying to UK universities to study my undergraduate degree in astrophysics/physics and astronomy. I have a few universities in mind, but what concerns me is the things I am hearing about how most locals are anti-immigrant. I don't plan on living there, just finishing my undergraduate, or maybe even my postgraduate studies. But I am concerned about how I will be treated for being a Muslim/hijabi.
The universities I am currently considering are:
University of Southampton
University of Manchester
University of Bristol
University College London
University of Edinburgh
University of Birmingham
I have not decided to pally to any of them yet, but I am curious about the number of muslims in these places, and the general attitude towards muslims. I know it can vary from place to place and I'd appreciate anyone's views.
