I recently started reading blue lock’s manga under a friend recommendation (it’s peak) and my attention has been literally captured by this side character from the first selection match (team Z vs team V). As of now I stopped reading the main manga at the end of the match with ubers, since as a christmas present my sister bought me some volumes of episode nagi (I’m at volume 5), which has had me ever so interested in this character.

Nagi from my understanding is this character who is depicted originally as…… a BUM, but the point of his behaviour is that he has nothing to look for and be excited about, he has no curiosity for everything and he’s skilled enough to simply go on with his life without breaking a sweat, which episode nagi depicts as something that happens also inside blue lock…. until he loses to isagi. There he starts to get curious, and through all the second selection he gets more and more fired up about the challenges that he has to confront (which he originally found to be just troublesome and boring), and he gets better and better while finally feeling excited and finally having fun. At that point I think the story makes it clear that nagi was meant to play football, and he was lucky enough to find something that he’s super talented in and that he CARES FOR (has shown in the panel where after the second loss against rin his desire to play only grows stronger).

But does he realise what soccer truly is for him? Because if he does then WHY is he half assing things later on in the NEL??? I haven’t seen much of his prospective but we clearly see that the top of the manshine is trying to teach and train him (not the other way around, him appreciating the opportunity and using it to the best to better himself), but in the end he just relies on reo again to score a goal against isagi, almost as if the doesn’t “still want to play soccer” as he says in the panel, but he just wants to beat isagi.

My question is: does nagi have a wrong way of experiencing things? He has literally found the PERFECT thing for himself, where he is insanely good at and he (at least used to) enjoys deeply the experience: so WHY is he acting like that is not the case? Like he has to half ass an exams he doesn’t want to study for. Is it something he does IMPLICITLY, without even knowing? I care so deeply about it because I’m in a situation in my life where (expect for physical activities and entertainment) I can’t find anything that excites me at all. I know for a fact that I’m very talented in what I’m currently doing but I just overly rely on i that because I can’t get myself to do my best work although I’d really want to; I tried other things but it was all the same, and now I’m wondering if I have a twisted way to experience things that makes it so that I don’t realise what I enjoy more and what less.

Still it’s not about me, let me know what you think about my goat nagi.

can you EXPLAIN me nagi seishiro?
