Everyday bakes of the UK

Seeking Recipe

Hey all,

I tried googling, but half of the recipes that come up are either AI, or I suck at making them. Unfortunately I'm not an experienced baker, not even from the UK or anywhere related, so I am having trouble identifying "proper" recipes. But before I give up I thought I'd ask...

Do you have any advice, recipe, or reliable website (hell, maybe even books!) for some everyday bakes goods one might find on the islands? I'm primarily looking for: Scones (with and without raisins) Crumpets English muffins Scottish shortbread And anything else you would say fits! It could be a breakfast item, savoury or sweet, perhaps something you often reach for to have as a side to tea or coffee.

Thanks everyone \o/
