I’m sorry, explain to me what this “I FEAR MY BABY WILL CHOKE” is coming from?

I see a lot of topics here and on the blw subreddit about parents AVOIDING giving solids because they are afraid their baby will choke? Are they shoving a meatball down their throat or am I missing something here? They have little baby spoons for feeding so you literally cannot give them an inappropriate amount…
