PCMH in JC?

Hi, sec 4 taking Os this year.

So far I’m interested in PCMH and HELM. HELM is one of the two major arts combis so I can find a lot of discourse on it, PCMH not so much, so I want to ask more about it.

A bit more context: H2 History is a must for me (at this point), I don’t feel strongly about any other subjects. I don’t mind studying Physics and Chem, and well I have to take Maths as much as I cmi in it 😭😭 For reference, at EOYs I got A1 Hist, A1 Physics, B3 Chem and E8 A Maths. And A1 SS/Lit (Lit by itself is borderline A1).

So here are some of my questions!

1. Is PCMH a viable subject combi in your JC? If so, how many people take it?

2. Apart from opening more doors for courses in Uni, does PCMH offer any other benefits that HELM does not?

3. In the event I wish to pursue a humanities degree, would PCMH disadvantage me over HELM?

4. How are the History, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Econs and Lit departments in your JC?

5. Is PCMH more difficult than other combis like HELM or PCME?

6. In general what’s your JC like?

7. Any other advice you would give to a junior looking to take PCMH/HELM?

I’m looking for ALL JCs, because I’m considering every JC (anyway I live in the northeast we only got NY here permanently…)

Thanks seniors!!
