Fired while on PIP while interviewing for other position. Help?

Basically the title. I was put on a PIP in mid december. I pretty much immediately started looking for other work. I had 2 interviews before the new year for a position that is basically identical to what i was doing. Im due to hear back about the new position this week, unsure if it would be a job offer or another round of interviews, my assumption is more interviews, but this morning i was let go. Basically what i want to know is how screwed I am, if at all. I went from feeling good, having a way out, to terrified.
