My heart goes out for Joyce's Family, the justice system UTTERLY failed them

Doug and the loophole of evading the death penalty was so hard to listen to. To the very end Doug was a selfish, evil, manipulative person. I can't imagine having wounds keep opening up Everytime Doug would appeal his court case. Over and over and over again. A family can't even get fucking closure because of that POS, for this to over DECADES is absolutely crazy. This seems to be a loophole that needs to be fixed asap, because that loophole is just painful and ruining people's lives!!!
