How to file independently

My financial aid counselor is not being helpful and I need to know if there is anything I can do. I moved out less than a week after I turned 18 and am completely on my own. However, I’m still pretty sure I have to file with my parents. My mom got a raise of 20,000 dollars and now my Pell grant went from $7,395 to $2,540. I’ve been trying to find any loopholes but I’ve had no luck so far other than maybe if I become homeless I can qualify which I don’t really want to do. Any advice?
