Improving my solder skills. Need some advice!

Lvl 3 (micro soldering, motherboard repair, diagnostics, etc)

Hello, I just wanna write my technique as a newbie.

Right now I'm in learning curve. For now I can do ps5/xbox series controllers sticks.

My technique is like this for the PS5.

- Add 180 solder to the factory THT
- Use solder sucker pump to suck them out
- Use hot air 410C with air 40% with circular motion and sometimes set on a pad for maybe 5 sec maximum to remove the stick.
Here in 30 sec to around 1 minute maybe 1 and a half is done.

My problem is with xbox series controllers where I use hot air for 2-3 minutes per stick just to remove it

And from I learned online this technique can be too aggressive for the pcb and can kill it.

Should I use 380C air 40% and some flux? Is this a better one?

And other technique that I see is but never used because it looked too aggressive to me:
- Add 180 solder to the factory THT
- Use hot air 410C with air 40% with circular motion and sometimes set on a pad for maybe 5 sec maximum to remove the stick.
- Use solder sucker to suck the holes

Or if you have a better technique just informe me I'm here to improve.
