PS5 keeps auto recording gameplay and it’s driving me nuts

Is anyone else dealing with their PS5 constantly recording gameplay on its own? I’m not talking about hitting the create button by accident. I mean the console just decides to grab clips randomly while I’m playing.

I’ll be in the middle of a session, then later I check my storage and there’s a bunch of random videos saved. Some are like 30 seconds, some are longer, and half of them aren’t even anything special. Just me standing in a menu or running around doing nothing. It’s eating up space way faster than I expect, and I only notice when I get the storage warning.

I’ve already gone into the capture settings and tried tweaking things. I turned off trophies recording, changed clip length, messed with auto capture options, but it still feels like the PS5 has a mind of its own. I don’t want to completely turn off capturing because I do like saving cool moments, I just don’t want it happening without me asking.

Is this a known thing or am I missing some hidden setting? Any tips from people who actually managed to stop the auto recording without nuking captures entirely would be appreciated because right now it’s getting pretty annoying.
