Urgent help needed to support seriously ill children and their families through the most difficult time in their lives.

"To see my daughter Emily in such pain and suffering every day is really hard for us. But it is even harder to deal with the reality that she may struggle to keep going.

“I feel utterly powerless that I can’t do anything to stop her illness and protect her from it.

“For the past four years Family Support Worker Michelle has been there for us every step of the way.

“And this is a way that has been a really difficult one.

“Michelle has provided us with support for my younger daughter Caitlin and my son Oliver, emotional support for the family, help when I have needed to get Emily to appointments or support with anything that we may be experiencing and need assistance with.

“From her very early years Caitlin sometimes found it hard to leave me and to leave the house. But Michelle has worked at building their relationship and to give Caitlin the confidence she needs to leave, to go to school and to interact with people.

“Up until last school year Michelle picked Oliver up when I needed to attend appointments. And because he was struggling with all that was going on and having difficulties at school, Michelle trained in drawing and talking therapy to help Oliver during weekly sessions at school. This really helped Oliver with his emotions, behaviour and attainment.

“Without Michelle’s support things would be even more difficult than they already are.

“There have been many occasions when I have needed someone to talk to. Michelle is always there to chat. At times when I need help, she has been ready to support in whichever way I want. That is truly priceless to me.

“Without your support many families like mine will have to face these struggles alone this Christmas. You can change that.

“Please donate today to help families like mine. Thank you."
