Mexican Riviera - March 28/29 - Newbies Need Help
Going to book a cruise for that spring break week, march 28/29 for 7 days. Leaving either San Diego or Los Angeles. Fairly new to cruises.
There are a few cruises that meet that parameter. My newbie eyes have caught onto two Norwegian offerings. Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Jade.
Both are doing almost identical paths.
The reason they grabbed my eye was that they had reasonable rates.
Additionally, they had included unlimited drinks package and 3 dining tickets.
I'm looking for any advice between booking either or skipping either.

How do you book the dining? I know you guys mentioned always book dining asap... so I was just wondering if its on board or online.

We are a 30/40yo couple. Mostly looking to relax, but definitely happy to mingle and do onboard activities. The Bliss is much larger and the Jade is a lot smaller. I guess the Bliss could be packed with kids and families... while the Jade might be small and not have as many activities? We would mostly be looking to do exercise classes, card games, physical things... honestly looking for organized events to sign up for. Bliss might have more... but they might be busier and booked out?

I guess follow up question, how do you sign up for onboard events? Do you sign up day-of or do you rush there first day of cruise and book out the events?

The stops are Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Any advice on fun things for a couple to do there? Book tours through cruise or through 3rd party?
Right now, we are just stuck between choosing which boat. Or am I making a big deal and both boats are going to be the same experience? I think right now we are leaning toward the smaller boat (Jade) because it seems less overwhelming... But the Bliss does seem to have a better gym!
- Last question, and I do appreciate if you've read this far. Picking location on the boat? Either boat? Any recommendation on what type of floor, or which side to on? General or specific recommendation would be great.
I appreciate any specific or general advice you guys have. I have been lurking reading your posts here and using the websites you have recommended. So even if you don't reply, thank you all for the stuff you have written as it has been very helpful.
