Need advice on GPU - PSU cable

I've bought an RTX 5070, which comes with a 12VHPR to 2x8 pin PCIe cable. I've also got a Lian Li Strimer cable, but this is 12VHPR to 3x8 pin PCIe. Can I use (while of course connecting all 3 PCIe cables) the 3x8 instead of the 2x8? I'm guessing it will give the same amount of power, but divided over 3 instead of 2 cables. I just want to be 100% sure before I fry my GPU. :D
