"Half in, half out"
A thought occurred to me, and I'd love to hear other thoughts on it
It's been just about 6 years( cant believe it's been that long!) Since Harry and Meghsn stepped down as working royals. Remember when they said they would move to Canada and still do royal work, but only part time ( half in, half out)? That suggestion was flatly refused by the rest of the royals, so thewere completely "out"
Other family members ( Beatrice, Eugenie , and Anne's kids,( i could be wrong about them, so you can correct me,) were "part timers" , so that's what got me thinking. We're Charles, Elizabeth and William so worried about "optics" and how it would look that everyone that was (or would be) in the " line of succession" not be full time "working royals" is why Harry and Meghan's "half in, half out" was so flatly rejected? After all, what would the world think if the most most well-known members of the Brittish royal family wasn't always front and center doing their " duty"?
As it turned out, the royals did Harry and Meghan a HUGE favor by turning down the "half in, half out" idea! They and the kids are thriving in California, doing engagements and philanthropic work on their own terms, and As Ever is doing very well, wich disappoints the brittish press!
And let me also add; William and Kate are doing their own version of "half in, half out", but they get away with it because William's the"hier" while Harry's the "spare"
Thoughts?
