I've heard only stories about it. that they scare people at night for amusement or something. they transform into animals. for that, they have to make a medicine and apply it at the back of they're ear. and this medicine is made by some fluid from placenta of pregnant women. like in the morning they'd hypnotize the woman from outside and at night she just gets up and walls to odiyan. then he would cut her belly with some sharp object like bamboo or something to get the fluid. some would even say when bathing their animal pets don't wash the back of the ear cuz what if it turned out to be an odiyan.
