Is Mandala Dot Work a dying trend ?
Here’s My Take as a Tattoo Artist Specializing in Dot Work
I've been working as a dot work tattoo artist for a while now, and I’ve noticed a bit of a shift in tattoo trends. Mandala dot work tattoos have been a huge thing in the tattoo world for the last decade or so, but recently I’ve been hearing more people question if it’s a trend that’s starting to fade out. Are mandalas and dot work still as popular as they once were, or are they becoming overdone?
As someone who specializes in dot work and geometric designs, I’ve seen this art form evolve and shift alongside other tattoo styles. There’s something mesmerizing about the way dots can create such intricate patterns and depth, and I still believe there’s a lot of room for innovation within this niche. But lately, I've been seeing fewer people request them, or maybe they’re getting overshadowed by more minimalistic designs, watercolor tattoos, or other trends.
What do you think? Is dot work on its way out, or do you think it's just going through a phase? And if you're interested in booking a session with a tattooist who loves creating custom mandalas, feel free to reach out! I’ve worked on everything from full sleeves to smaller designs, and I'm always down to collaborate on something new.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
