[24M] Is clicking in the knee a problem or NOT? Why was there some medical confusion b/w Ortho1 and Ortho3 vs. Ortho4 and PT1??

This insanity started ~3 years ago. My kneecap felt a lil weird, but not 10/10 pain. Ortho1 said I had "clicking" in my left and right knees and that is runner's knee. He told me to rest, avoid stairs, and do weighted leg raise and quad sets to fix clicking.

Ortho2 saw me 1 year after Ortho1. He did not hear clicking. Ortho3 saw me last year/1 year after Ortho2. He heard lil clicking. He said to continue rest, avoid stairs, and those same 2 exercises to 100% fix clicking and runner's knee discomfort.

But this is the very strange part. I found out the #1 Ortho Hospital is in my city. Idek how tf I never saw this. I went to Ortho4 as I still had the clicking noise of runner's knee. Then, he tells me that is not runner's knee?! The clicking is crepitus and harmless as he has that in his own leg?!?! But he did feel my knee and said my discomfort is runner's knee. I told him about the weighted leg raise and quad sets that I was doing for over 2.5 years, but useless. He ordered me to PT for better exercises than quad sets and leg raises.

At PT, I met PT1 and told her about the entire runner's knee saga. She gave me way better exercises and pretty much fixed the runner's knee in ~2 months! Wow! Like stretches, rolling leg, etc. I still some minor discomfort esp during PT at home, but MUCH BETTER compared to before. I am continuing to strengthen knees. But she also said that the clicking is harmless crepitus, not runner's knee.

So, why is there some confusion on the clicking?? Ortho1,Ortho2, and Ortho3 are at Hospital1 and not Hospital2 w/ Ortho4 and PT1. I agree w/ Hospital2 ppl that clicking is harmless as they fixed my knee in ~2 MONTHS rather than 2+ YEARS w/ Hospital1 ppl. It is so strange as Hospital1 Orthos all have medical degrees, but seem wrong af. I can answer any q. Any idea is good. All this medical confusion truly confuses and esp annoys me jfc...
