Purchase protection (blue cash)

Hello. First time using the purchase protection and want to understand the process. I filed the claim online for a sunglasses I dropped into water on a cruise trip. I got a letter a few days later asking for the receipt, which I submitted but haven’t heard anything back. The claim status is open. Does it mean the claim is approved or they still need to review and decide later? What is the process here. Thanks!
