Unity Nodes (Android): averaging ~$0.40/day per phone lately (data point + what I’m still unsure about)
Sharing a simple data point for anyone looking at “phone-based” side income.
I’ve been running Unity Nodes on spare Android devices and lately I’m averaging around ~$0.40/day per phone (it moves around, not guaranteed). With multiple phones it adds up, but it’s not totally hands-off.
What it’s like in practice:
- mostly “set it and check in sometimes”
- the app has been more stable recently, so I’m not spending much time on it now
- the real work is boring stuff: uptime, heat/charging, and keeping the connection consistent
Costs / tradeoffs:
- power + data usage (depends on your setup)
- device wear (batteries/heat)
- output isn’t perfectly predictable day to day
Questions for anyone else running it:
- are you typically above or below $0.40/day per device? what range do you see?
- what seems to matter most: uptime, SIM vs Wi-Fi, location, device model?
- does it stay consistent over weeks/months or is it noisy?
