Major in something that isn't my passion?
Disclaimer: where I live, college education is completely free. I'm a creative and I know that for sure. It's what makes my soul sing. But it's just not lucrative at all. I worked as a private ESL teacher and I didn't hate it, but it was just so hard to make ends meet. Lately, a friend suggested archivology. I know it's kind of a science, but it has no math really, and little computer and technology related subjects (2). I know it doesn't sound like something I'm crazy about, but I can choose where I take it, sort of. There are options to lean towards historic documents and more artsy interesting things like music, shows, and even things like museum exhibits. And I'm also fond of history. From what I understand, it's a good pay and guaranteed job since we barely have archivists where I live. I guess my question is, is it a good idea to persue this major and maybe fulfill my creative calling on the side? If not, I really don't know how to find any other major that suits me and pays the bills.
