is the tamagotchi angel worth it?

hello, i currently play on a tamagotchi connection 2024 and was planning on preordering one of the new shells dropping this month for the tamagotchi angel 2025. i’m currently only interested in playing on the greyscale tamagotchis, i might get a colour version in the future but not for now

i enjoy the nostalgia of the connection, however i feel like my tama is not as needy as i want it to be (haha). i want to care for it and engage with it more, but it doesn’t demand much of me. i’m frequently checking its stats and whether it needs anything, but there’s often nothing i need to do (and if i do then usually just a quick meal/snack). i currently have a serious tama, so it goes to bed at 8pm which means i have less time to play with it too

i do like that the shop resets three times a day, and the vendor visits twice a day. these things give me extra reasons to play at certain times each day which i appreciate. i enjoy being able to purchase items and food for my tama, it feels more personalised and gives me a reason to play games. i also like that there are so many potential tama’s to obtain in each life stage, it keeps things interesting

i was initially interested in the tamagotchi angel because 1. i heard that angels are more demanding and you have to engage with them more often, 2. i like the backstory of caring for tama’s that have passed away, 3. i particularly like one of the shells from the new winter collection. i would like to try a different gameplay, and out of the other tamagotchis i’m currently interested in (mori and ocean) this one would be the most easily obtainable/reasonably priced

however, upon further research i’m getting the impression that the parts of the connection that i most like would not be included in the angel. it looks as though there are much less characters to obtain, with potentially the first two stages only having one possible character. it doesn’t look like there is a shop or a vendor to purchase items and food from. it also seems to me like there is only one food and one snack option included, so no variation there. am i correct in these things?

if this is the case, it sounds like it would feel less personalised and less engaging - even if they perhaps do call for attention more. i’m not sure whether i should skip buying the angel, and just get another connection so my tama can interact with another one (which i was planning on doing eventually anyway, but would have liked playing something different too)

to anyone who has played both, please let me know if you think the tamagotchi angel is worth playing for other reasons or if it’s kind of lacking. i would really appreciate your input so i can decide which one to buy next! thank you :)
