REFLECT on your experiences - Survey and interview on loneliness and eating difficulties (16-25, UK)
Hi everyone!
I am part of a research team at King's College London working on the REFLECT study, which explores the diverse experiences of loneliness among young people with a past or current eating disorder.
Although previous research has identified a link between eating disorders and feelings of loneliness, we still know little about how these experiences actually feel in everyday life.
Participation in REFLECT is remote-based and involves:
- An online screening questionnaire, around 20 minutes long
- An online one-hour interview with a researcher via Microsoft Teams
We are currently looking for people who:
- Are aged 16-25 and living in the UK
- Have current or past experience with an eating disorder, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and others (formal diagnosis not required)
- Have current or past experiences of loneliness
- Are comfortable participating in a one-hour interview in English
Your insights could help us understand how experiences of loneliness might be connected or drive eating disorder behaviours, and in what ways these connections could affect wellbeing and recovery.
If you would be interested in participating or have any questions, you can email the REFLECT team at EDIFYresearch@kcl.ac.uk, or visit our website to complete our short screening questionnaire.
Thank you for taking the time to read, your interest is very much appreciated! :)
