Killer macro game help against organized SWFs

:c2: Discussion 💬

I went against a very sweaty SWF recently (in the event mode too😭) and I played the macro game much different then I normally do and I wanted advice if this is the correct way to play or if there is a better way to play. I ended up winning the match but for all I know the SWF was just bad and I got lucky. They were a 4 man and one of them was live and streaming too.

After I got my first hook I noticed that THREE separate gens were almost done, this tells me these guys are here to sweat their balls. I go check on a gen, someone is on it, I kick gen and follow them a bit then head back to hook and I intercept the save. They end up do getting the save however it was a hook trade and 2 gens finish in the distance.

I follow the unhooked person because I want these boys to know im gonna match their energy. My most recent hook gets unhooked, I down the tunnel target, she has DS and I just eat it right away, and eventually I follow up and get another down and hook on the tunnel target. We are at 2 hooks on tunnel target, 1 hook on one survivor, and 0 hooks on the other 2 survivors, and still at 3 gens.

I managed to spot a nearby survivor(0 hooks) who was possibly going for the save and I had a choice here. I could either try and interrupt that gen in the distance that was being worked on, or stop this survivor from getting a free unhook. I chose to give up the gen in the distance and stop this person from getting a free unhook. I down this survivor just as my tunnel target gets unhooked, and I leave that survivor on the ground and I just immediately bee line at my tunnel target.

These guys were panicking hard at this point. We have one slug on the ground, my tunnel target trying to get away, and the 2 healthy survivors were both trying to body block for my tunnel target. I eventually get my tunnel target down and kill them, and then I clean these boys up in the 3v1.

Is there anything I could have done better here? After my very first hook I get one survivor off a gen however I don't commit and go back to hook. Also I don't know how to balance out giving up a gen compared to letting the 0 hook survivor get the free unhook. Was that the right move to go for the unhooker and give up the gen?
