Advice for IFR?

I finally got my PPL. It took me 80 hours and 11 month. I feel like I really struggled and lagged behind. I feel like I’m just now getting a grasp of it and now I’m supposed to start learning IFR.

There are some things looking back that I wish I knew before starting my PPL that I think would have made my time go a little faster.

Any advice that anyone can give me for doing well on my IFR training so I don’t go 10k$ over budget again and progress at a good rate. What are things you wish you knew or wish someone had told you before starting instrument training. Any advice would be much appreciated. I’ll be doing this at a part 61.
