Does anyone else’s dog do this?

My dog will only eat about half of its dinner when I put the food out. Then later, after I turn off the lights and lie down in bed, I suddenly hear the crunch crunch of kibble coming from the kitchen.

My current theory is that during the day, it is holding back because it is hoping I will give it lots of treats. So it saves stomach space just in case. Once it is late at night and it realizes there will be no more snacks, it finally accepts reality and goes back to finish the dog food.

It is honestly so funny  Does your dog do something similar, or is mine just a professional snack strategist?
