Hello! I haven't posted in a while here since I have been busy and what not, I wanted to share this beautiful music box I got working again for my personal collection!

I bought this music box on FB Marketplace for $35, the listing said the box was overwound, and after inspecting the pictures, you can see that there's built in rust, I believe if I'm not wrong, I'm no expert by any means but you get the point.

Fast forward I got the box in the mail today and I got to work on it, I took the mechanism out, only 4 screws on the bottom and then remove a small piece of wood that holds the glass frame in place and then I cleaned the inside of the box as there was particles of who knows what, then I made my way to the music box itself, after adding a bit of oiment and manually moving the gears (and yes I made sure the box was wind before I did as I didn't want the spring to unfold backwards and make it worse).

After about 3 hours-ish, I managed to finally make it play as it should, though it is a bit fast but it will default to the proper speed with time, I left it running a couple of times to make sure everything worked, and pretty much that was it, I assembled it back together and well here's a little video I made, I do apologize for my loud breathing, I have been sick for the past week and its been a nightmare but I'll be fine, as well as how terrible showcasing is here, it's so bad but I tried lol, maybe one of these days I'll get a better light and camera to record cause this is a horrible set up I got.

All 3 songs are classical tunes, the box is in decent shape with some scratches and scuffs but otherwise everything is good, there is only a N.28 printed on the song list and a serial number on the bottom of the box and mechanism too, overall I think this was a steal of a price for what it is, and I really love the tune playlist, it was worth the effort put into to get it to work lol.

Hope you guys and gals like it as much as I do!

I will make another post once I get a Thorens AD30 music box I recently ordered and got a specific metal disc that plays the Mexican National Anthem, which I'm pretty sure it is a very rare tune to come by as I couldn't find it elsewhere besides one random listing on ebay with another 3 discs which one of them is the Swiss Anthem as well, but that's going to be for another time, thank you and sorry for the long post 😅
