I realized today that most of my life happens on autopilot
I was halfway through making coffee this morning when it hit me that I couldn’t remember deciding to do any of it. I just, started. Grabbed the mug, poured the water, reached for the same spoon I always use. Then I started noticing how much of my day works like that. Conversations I already know how to have. Routes I walk without seeing them. Reactions that happen before I’ve even formed an opinion. It’s not a bad thing. But it made me wonder how many days I’ve lived that way. Present enough to function, but not enough to actually notice them while they’re happening. I don’t think the solution is to “be mindful” all the time. That sounds exhausting. I just think it’s strange how quietly time can pass when nothing interrupts the pattern. Just a small thought that stuck with me longer than I expected. Anyone else ever catch themselves mid-routine and realize they weren’t really there?
