I think NPD is one of the biggest ills of society and dealing with them inevitably leads to suffering
I’ll start by saying I don’t have a NPD parent. However, my older brother has this and I’m pretty certain some issues such as insecurity, paranoia, anxiety/stress can be attributed to growing up with him. Now in my career I’ve been dealing with a manager with the same behaviors with all the common traits of NPD: grandiose self-image, need for attention, lack of empathy, need for absolute control, reactive abuse, and extreme sensitivity to criticism but loves to insult and hurt others. Now I find out my partner’s mother has all this too, and we trauma bond over it. So I have three ppl in my life that have NPD. I’ve just come to the realization that these ppl need to be avoided at all costs. And are the root cause of so many issues in society, I feel like most laws/rules are written bc of how they behave.
Thoughts?
