Removed person from policy and next day the total my car....

Im with progressive, I removed my girlfriend from my auto policy and in my mind she should still have insurance till the next bill since you know, I already paid for the month and on my app it still said she was on my insurance so I though that I was right in my assumption, next day she totals my car and insurance says they dont see her on my policy since I removed her but on my end she is still on it and also would make since cause I already paid for her to be on it for the current month, everything I see online says that when removing someone from the policy it takes effect immediately which dosnt make sense to me as like ive said, I already paid for the month for her to have insurance, I removed her so she wont have it for the next period, ontop of that on my app it still shows she is on my policy but progressive says she isnt
