I updated my free RAW tool from a basic utility to a full Culling/Grading Studio. It lets you apply Video LUTs (S-Log, F-Log) to photos accurately.

General / Discussion

Some time ago, I shared a tool called Raw Alchemy. It was designed to solve a specific problem for hybrid shooters: applying cinematic Video LUTs (like S-Log3 or F-Log2) to RAW photos without the colors looking wrong.

The Update:
The previous version worked mathematically, but the interface was... functional at best (very basic, looked like engineering software).
I spent the last few months rewriting it from scratch, and I’m excited to share Raw Alchemy Studio.

What changed?
It is no longer just a converter; it is now a comprehensive Culling and Grading workspace:

  • ⚡️ Fast Culling: You can now load entire folders, browse thumbnails, and quickly tag/mark your keepers.
  • 🎨 The "Studio" UI: Moved to a modern, dark-mode interface that integrates the library, preview, and tools in one window (similar to Lightroom).
  • 🛠 Integrated Tools: Real-time Histogram, Highlight-Safe Metering, WB, and Lens Correction (Lensfun) are now right at your fingertips.
  • 🚀 Batch Export: Grade one photo, then export all your marked shots as TIFF, HEIF, or JPG.

The Core Tech (Still the same):
It still decodes RAW files into a Linear space and mathematically transforms them into Log gamuts. This allows you to apply your favorite video .cube LUTs to photos with 100% accuracy—something standard photo editors often struggle to do correctly.

It is 100% Free and Open Source.
