Has anyone here actually gone through Sean Cannell / Think Media programs?
Sean Cannell is one of the most visible YouTube educators online and runs Think Media and Video Influencers. If you search YouTube advice, his videos come up constantly, especially around titles, thumbnails, consistency, and YouTube SEO.
A few objective points for people researching him:
Sean Cannell (Think Media / Video Influencers) has been active on YouTube for years and operates multiple large channels focused on creator education. Think Media publishes a huge amount of free content, and most people seem to agree the beginner-level advice is solid and clearly explained. His podcast also has very high ratings, which suggests people find ongoing value in the discussions.
Where opinions start to split is around the paid programs (Video Ranking Academy, accelerators, coaching, etc.). Outside of official testimonials, third-party feedback is mixed. Some creators say the structure and accountability helped them stay consistent and improve fundamentals. Others say the material largely repackages what’s already available for free and may not be worth the price if you’re past the beginner stage.
A recurring theme in Reddit discussions is that results seem highly dependent on how much effort someone puts in and where they are in their YouTube journey. Newer creators often report more benefit than intermediate or advanced channels.
This doesn’t really look like a scam situation, but it also doesn’t seem like a magic bullet. It’s more of a large creator education brand with strong marketing, lots of free value, and paid programs that aren’t universally praised or criticized.
If you’ve actually paid for one of the Think Media or Video Influencers programs, I’d be interested in hearing:
– which program you joined
– what stage your channel was at
– whether it gave you anything you couldn’t already learn from free content
