I just played Look Outside (almost) entirely blind for the first time, here are some amusing details of how it went!

SpoilerStorytime

I started Look Outside on the 1st of January, and it took me about a week of irl time to beat, with about 16h of playtime on my save. I played on Explorer mode, mainly so that I wouldn't have to lose a bunch of progress any time I died.

Here are some unordered weird things about my playthrough:

- I didn't manage to recruit a single companion until I met Papineau down on the ground floor, and then it wasn't until like the 2 final hours of playtime that I recruited Lyle. This was not for a lack of trying, mind you. I was actively trying to look for more companions to recruit! I guess I did find Philippe, but I killed him and didn't realize he could be brought back. If I end up doing a second playthrough, then getting to experience more of the companions would be the main goal.

- I got the Promise ending! I got it almost entirely without having to look anything up, just playing off of what felt right. I did look up a few details towards the end, just to double-check that I hadn't missed anything (I had to look up where the Jupiter disc was, for example, as I had missed it in the landlord's apartment hehe). I read through the other endings on the wiki afterwards and I'm really happy with the Promise ending, though it seems like it has a looot more to offer if you've recruited more companions, so that's another weird mark of this playthrough.

- I found the meat world pretty organically after clearing the water apartment and using the iris key from the furnace, and then spent a day or two just running around and killing all of the named body parts without having any idea what it was for. Later on I realized all that was for the Unity ending, which wasn't even the ending I ended up going for!

- I was terrified to give Lyle the photo negative for him to develop it! The game gave me a bunch of opportunities to chicken out of letting him do it, so I thought it would make him lose his sanity or something, but he was fine in the end. I got really attached to Lyle since I barely got any other npcs that were super friendly, and it's a shame I never got to play the TTRPG with him since I didn't find more friends.

- I loved Jeanne early in the playthrough! Or, well, I guess I still love her character, but it was a little bit of a shame that not much seemed to happen with her after I gave her back her laundry. But her and Lyle were my homies!

Overall, this game was a blast, and had me hooked from start to finish. Also please tell me I'm not alone in having such a hard time recruiting companions the first time around lol. Am I just oblivious, or just unlucky? What are some of the strange things you did on a blind playthrough?
