Nikon z6iii behaving oddly after rain

I have a Nikon z6iii and shooting with a Nikon z 400mm. I have been using the camera in light to medium intensity rain with high humidity in the cloud forest in Ecuador. A lot of people seem to have no problems using this camera in weather, but at one point my camera shutter just started firing constantly. I have the ports all open, card and battery out, and it is sitting in a bag of rice with screens over the ports. I am wondering if this is likely a larger problem. the camera is only a few months old which is unfortunate. Is there anything else I can do to increase chances of success. I don’t have access to AC, or silica desiccant but hopefully I can obtain some in a few day.
