Any tips on how to land a remote position?

My wife’s been trying to switch to a remote position for about a year now and hasn’t been able to land anything yet. She works in medical registration/billing/data entry across different offices and has worked in management roles and done paid projects at home for previous employers. She’s currently driving about an hour each way to her current job due to the fact we have nothing closer where we live. There’s plenty of jobs out there she’s qualified for and other types of positions as well but no luck. Just looking for some tips TIA
