Twitter fight

So this is gonna sound crazy and weird but I got into a stupid twitter fight, this guy was calling me a r*tard and etc. and it was all over a discussion about a tv show and shipping culture. He said I was weird for wanting two characters that are kids in a tv show to get together. I asked him if he had a problem with watching two other 12 year olds on the show kiss to which he said no, so I (stupid i know) called him a pedo (he was basically insinuating the same about me)… My profile wasn’t my real info and I’m pretty sure his isn’t either. He is now saying he is going to sue me for defamation and/or libel. He blocked me so I blocked him then freaked out and deactivated.

Does he actually have grounds to sue for this? I know it’s a third party because it’s X but seriously???
