NJ tube placement

I'm getting an NJ tube placed next Wednesday (gastroparesis, yay) and despite fighting tooth and nail for sedation, my hospital refuses and will only prescribe an oral dose of Ativan beforehand. I unfortunately have medical PTSD and am scared shitless. Alas, I also really need the damn tube and don't have a ton of options at this point.

Any insertion stories, good or bad? Should I try to push harder for the sedation and potentially move back the insertion date? I'm a nervous wreck.
