Meanwhile in Ontario..
While other governments are actively strengthening their relationship with employees through modern workplace policies, Ontario continues to lag behind on many fronts:
* Spain, Japan, and South Korea recognize paid menstrual health leave as part of a government–employee relationship that treats menstrual health as a legitimate workplace issue rather than forcing employees to use sick days or work through pain.
* France and Belgium have right-to-disconnect laws that reflect a government commitment to protecting employee boundaries, legally limiting after-hours work expectations.
* Iceland and Spain have introduced shorter workweeks through government-led initiatives, showing a trust-based relationship between governments and employees that prioritizes well-being while maintaining productivity.
* The Netherlands and Germany embed remote and flexible work rights into employment law, reinforcing a collaborative government–employee relationship where flexibility is treated as a right, not a perk.
* Sweden and Norway provide robust paid parental and family leave, demonstrating a long-term partnership between government and employees that supports families, equity, and workforce sustainability.
Meanwhile in Ontario.. we are forced to go back 5 days a week in the coldest months of the year 👍
