Anyone have a persistent twitch?
Hi! I’m 34, F.
I’ve had a constant twitch on my chin since November, it is always there even when I can’t feel it — I’ll look into the mirror and see it pulsing. Some days I can feel it more than others, like the past two days but today I don’t feel it as much even though it’s still constantly active. Sometimes I feel a deep twitch when I swallow and sometimes I don’t. It’s very odd. Over the past now two weeks it has developed from chin to a twitch in my lower eyelid that is triggered by certain mouth movements and a tugging sensation from my eyelid down my cheek when I chew.
This all started with leg twitching, soreness, and “electrical” sensations that lasted 2-3 weeks after getting a flu shot/covid vaccine combo. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or linked but I’m here now regardless…
I have gone to my doctor and he just shrugged and said one day I’ll probably wake up and it will be gone but everything I see is that persistent twitches are cause for concern. He has me set to do a bunch of bloodwork but that’s where I’m at. He also suggested magnesium (I’m taking 200MG nightly) and potassium. I’ve also considered B12 complex (1000mg) but haven’t started.
I unfortunately fell into a 2 hour spiral last night researching and obviously all that does is freak you out about neurological diseases or brain tumors. The fact that it’s not really improving has me all sorts of messed up. And when I touch the area where it’s twitching, it feels smaller than the other side of my chin like it’s cause muscle wasting.
Anyway, does anyone else experience persistent twitches or advice? Should I be as worried as I am?
