PVD311 / Shooting Alerts -- Brown Daily Herald

Hi -- I hope you are all doing as well as you can be in the wake of Dec. 13, and that you've been enjoying a safe, restful holiday season.

My name is Michelle and I'm a reporter with The Brown Daily Herald, the student newspaper of Brown University (you can find my author page here). I've been reporting on the shooting and its aftermath. I'm currently trying to look into the timing and nature of emergency alerts that were sent out to Providence during the shooting.

I read posts on this reddit like this one from residents who are frustrated with the city's communications. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their personal experience/thoughts with the BDH.
