Advice to help avoid missing content

I’ve just ordered a copy of the game off Larian’s website and I’ll be getting a PS5 in late January/early February. With as few spoilers as possible, what do I need to do/look for/avoid throughout the game to avoid missing out on missions, content, story arcs, etc.?
