Question about DOE-contracted math consultant (NYC)

Hi all, I’m looking for information or shared experiences with a DOE-contracted math consultant named Lori Cook who works across NYC schools.

Based on my direct experience, her work has involved: • Selecting math standards for annual planning and having teachers build or revise curriculum using the NYC Launch–Explore–Summarize framework • Acting as the point person during full-day teacher planning sessions and giving general feedback • Conducting classroom demo lessons that sometimes differ from the guidance given to teachers • Not sharing materials created at other schools using the same approach • Interactions with teachers that vary depending on whether administrators are present

I’m not making accusations—just trying to understand: • Her official role and qualifications • Whether this approach is standard across other schools • If others have had similar or different experiences
