Despite 20mg Daily Prednisone, Getting Diabetes under Control

Type 2

Saw my endo today. My A1c is 7.9, down from 8.7 three months ago!

I have Crohn’s and adrenal insufficiency. Diabetes is due to long-term (over 50 years) prednisone use. I had a bad Crohn’s flare causing GI to boost prednisone to 40mg. Been reducing, but stuck at 20mg for a year now.

I’ve been so down trying to control diabetes while taking all this prednisone, so it’s wonderful to finally see some improvement. BTW, I take both Lantus and Novolog daily and rarely eat more than 100g carbs daily.
