I’m 29f, not POI but have all the peri symptoms
I’m sorry if this is not the appropriate sub to post in, but it’s the most supportive one I’ve found.
I’m 29f, from Mexico. This year I was diagnosed with Addison disease, and even though I’ve been getting my life back together after I was diagnosed I started having severe perimenopausal symptoms like severe night sweats, having to pee a lot at night, feeling everyday like I’m getting a UTI, insomnia that doesn’t respond to medication, erratical periods (I’ve always been very regular and these last few months there has been changes in flow and my cycle duration), extreme dryness EVERYWHERE, irritability, extremely low libido, severe brain fog, problems with my vision, achy joints, severe fatigue, etc. My endo said they weren’t related to my disease and that it sounds like anxiety (mind you, Ive been stable with the same dose of sertraline for over a year) and recommended I upped my dose a bit. He said since my AMH is within range there’s no way my symptoms are related to my reproductive system. And he discouraged to keep seeing my gyno for the issue.
Im already with DHEA (50 mg daily) that was prescribed by my gyno since my endo said it wasn’t necessary, it have helped a lot but im wondering if there’s any other disease that’s not POI or DOR (which I don’t have since my AMH is over 1) that can also cause “premature menopause” and should I seek other opinions? Or should I wait to see if my periods get more irregular?
I’m afraid to ask my dr since my last visit he was brutal about it and I’m tired of being told it’s anxiety. I don’t want to up my sertraline but maybe he’s right?
